Great to be with an older girls cruise for the long weekend. Friendly service. Food so-so and always only mildly warmed in dining room. Bread very hard. As for entertainment, the dance shows were LOUD electric music with flashing lights. Singers going to the top of voice range which means I had to put hands over ears. Nice costumes and movement around stage. Avoid Kirk as a comedian. Saying the best part for last was the newly appointed cruise director——Chris. So full of life! Makes everything he does so fun Whether it is Harry Potter trivia or atrium music. Awesome!!!! This was his first cruise director position and he was ready for it. He had an accessory for each event he was doing. He was entertaining just to talk to. Boring destinations but only ones if leaving from Jacksonville. Parking easy, Embarked within 30 minutes. Could have been sooner if Elation could figure how to disembark. Total headache. Easy walkoff took until 10:00. Poor ports, mediocre food, and terrible disembark gives it a three. On deck, Guys burgers and burrito bar are good. Read Less

Our cruise was as fun and enjoyable as our first one! The Park West team with the art auctions were great! It was our first ever auction at sea and even though we weren’t planning on leaving owning artwork, we did! Matty, Sasha, Ravi, Reece, Bianca and Zoe made our introduction into art collecting memorable. We look forward to seeing them again! The Washington dining staff (Kadek, Rodrigo and Maruf) were AMAZING. Dinner and breakfast with them was a blast and always fun! Dewa and the room staff were great and very attentive. They handled all of our requests quickly and efficiently. Lionel’s shopping tips were more than we expected. Great value for wonderful pieces. Bertold at the Java on the lido deck remembered me and my drink for the whole cruise and was very good with making it, the best Chocolate Lovers I’ve had on my cruises. We look forward to enjoying many more cruises. Read Less

Not worth the money... over crowded deck, slow restaurant service, at full capacity shows, long wait lines. Day 1: room was not stocked with towels, hand soap or animal towel. Day 2: went to deck and placed towels on chairs while I took kids to the obstacle course on the next deck up and then down to the pool. Came back 30-40min later to a ticket stating the towels sat for too long unattended and I can find my belongings in a bag at the towel bar. At this time all the chairs in the sun were taken front, sides and back of the ship filled. The only spot available was in the shade with an obstructed view of the ocean. Day 2: night we placed our kids in camp ocean ages 7 and 8. Kids were super excited to go due to prior camp ocean experiences on other ships. We picked our kids up two hours later to 2 of 3 crying saying they never want to go back. They hated it, no games and/or arts and crafts. They made kids participate in scheduled activities. They did not provide alternative options. My daughter wanted to color instead of playing in their olympics and they told her no. They have a terrible child to teacher ratio. At one time I counted 28 kids to 3 adults. Sea day brunch and dinning took over an hour to get our food. Comedy shows were sold out every night. People started to line up an hour before hand. Terrible seating options. Seats are individual chair-no booths so there is limited seating. All in all it was not an enjoyable experience, not worth the money, our family will not be rebooking this shop again. Read Less

I chose this cruise because I like the new larger ships. It was also easier for my bother to fly into the area from Sweden. We traveled with 5 sibs and spouses, also my sisters oldest son and 3 of his kids. Loved the ship, but missed the awesome spa we are used to from the Breeze and Dream. They did away with that great thalasso pool! I sure did miss that! Another disappointment was the new lounge. They changes from those old school large seating areas with tables to basically folding chairs on the ground level, other seats were very hard to see anything. The dinning seamed to be better then past Carnival cruises, including the main dining room. We stayed in a spa balcony cabin, nothing changed here, still a nice room, but seams like they could work on giving the cabins a fresher look. Our steward was fine, not much interaction like on other ships. Did a great large group excursion in Cozumel, Private Oasis At Passion Island! It was $739 for up to 12 people. They treated us like Platinum VIP guests, food, drink and our own private area of beach away from others on the island. Check it out, it must be catching on, because the price just went up to $799. Para sailed in Grand Cayman, also fun, we always book with the Carnival website. Both embarkation and disembarkation went very smooth, We are Platinum sailors, but the others in our group were not, and we all managed to get on ship the same time. Read Less

Everything was perfect! We loved this boat. Our Stewart Ian was fantastic. We stayed on the Havana deck (5). It was so nice we never explored the rest of the boat! It was so worth the extra money. Carnival has changed the way they clean the your state room. If used to be twice a day, now it is only once. Your Stewart will ask which do you prefer morning or evening. The downside was not having fresh towels for that second shower of the day. It wasn’t that big of deal. If I had to pick one thing I wished it was done differently it would be the siding doors had a key pad or an exit to go directly to the pool. As it is now you have to lock your sliding door from the inside and walk through the bar to get to the pool if you want your room locked. It wasn’t a well thought out plan in my opinion. Other than that we had a wonderful time and we would do it again! Read Less

This ship is a joke. Room had several patched jobs with different colors. Smelled and broken furniture. Women’s dry sauna was registered at 230 degrees wet sauna had no steam (reported it twice) never changed all week Numerous medical emergencies. Rust filled Lido deck, broken down elevators. Entertainment suitable for the gereatrics ward. Save your money because Carnival doesn’t care. Day 2 man died in E37 and family members crying and screaming. People near the room confused as man brought out wrapped in towels and rushed down the hall into the elevator. Zero words said to the customers standing in hall way. No one knows if there are physically or medically safe and Carnival only paste a red sign on the door saying “do not enter under authoring of the captain”. Red tape across the lock. Upon debarkation, federal and local law enforcement outside the room. This is a low budget cruise. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Read Less

We are frequent cruises and lower our expectations when necessary. The ship itself was well maintained and the food was good. Guys burgers were awesome! Room service was also very good and had many free options and the pay options were not pricey. Our room location was horrible. We were right above the metal machine shop where very loud grinding, hammering of metal and clinking continues from 7:30 am until after supper every day. I was really sick with a head cold and could not rest even with ear plugs. They offered us 150 credit at the ships shops. We got badly sunburned and the ships shop did not have any aloe or ointments to help. The cabin steward accidentally threw out a retainer that was on the bathroom shelf. It will be 500 to replace it. We are in our forties and really appreciate our afternoon rests and peace and quiet but there was none in our room. Read Less

This cruise was so needed after a hard 6 months with my step dad beating cancer, & some other stuff leaving him in a wheelchair. This was a huge family ordeal with 14 of us needing some serious R&R & Carnival Elation did not disappoint. We've cruised together years before, but now some of us had children & significant others. The things I was super impressed with are: -Embarkation & Debarkation were pretty painless due to faster to the fun. I would absolutely add this on if you are considering it. -The staff was super nice. Jordan is pure sunshine, he would greet you by name at the Tiffany's buffet, & ask how you were, what your plans are for the day, & his smile is super contagious. Seriously if you don't smile after interacting with him, you should take a look at how you are living your life. -Our steward Jose was awesome as well. He kept our room super clean, & there was a towel pet waiting each evening for our daughter. -We had a room on the Empress level with a private balcony. This was fantastic! We had a king size bed, along with a pull out for my daughter. I know cruise ship rooms are small, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't knock my head on her bed a few times due to it pulling out right over our bed. -Half Moon Cay is magical. My husband was wary about getting off the boat onto the island, not having control on when we could come back, but he is so glad he came. The smaller boats ferry back & fourth all day & we were able to grab one to go back straight away. The behind the scenes work that goes into preparing all of us lunch on that island should be fully recognized. Impressive operation & it seems so smooth! We didn't go on any excursions, we were happy to just relax on the beach. There were chairs for my step dad to use to go out onto the ocean for free! This was so wonderful! -Nassau is always fun & bustling. I've been there before & done some excursions so we opted just to shop & walk around this time. It was a lot of fun. -The buffet was awesome. The casino was awesome, the fun shops, & other places to buy jewelry & souvenirs are great as well. -The 80's show & Divas were fantastic. -The professional photos we got were stunning, we went home with the canvas package. I was however, not impressed that in order to get digital copies - you are forced to also purchase the 8x10s. Things I feel could've been improved upon: -My daughter, niece & nephew's were not impressed. They never really did what the itinerary said they had planned. They wanted to hang with us instead, which of course we wanted to spend some quality time with them but my husband & I were wanting a bit of an "adult reprieve" & having a kid not stoked about the kid area was kinda disappointing. -The food at the dinners. Most of it was really good, but getting through all of the courses took over 2 hours. We were scheduled for the 8:25 dinners so we had to go directly to any shows we wanted to see, nearly missing them. The one steak I ordered had a huge tendon going through the whole thing which didn't leave me able to eat but a few bites. We had a blast. This was my husband & daughter's first cruise, & though my husband wasn't super excited about being on a moving boat (he was seasick the last day due to a rocky ride back to Jacksonville) they both would love to go back. I hope to go again next year. Read Less

This was a cruise to a place I always dreamed of visiting - CUBA. That was the highlight of the cruise. Embarkation went very smoothly. We had a 12 show time and we were on board eating and playing cards by 12:30. Due to an serious fall, my niece broke her leg and rented a knee scooter which met the size requirements of Carnival. It was to be in the room by 2pm. At 2:15 we entered the room and there it was. Perfect. 4pm we set off from Tampa. We arrived at Key West the next day at noon. We hung out on the ship while in dock, lazing around and enjoying each other's company. We took off from Key West, spent the night in the casino and in the morning arrived in Cuba. Disembarking was also made easy via customs, even though explaining an e-cigarette met with odd looks. Off we went to meet up with Jorge from Blexie who proudly drove us around Cuba explaining various areas, customs and culture. It was a long awaited experience and not a moment of regret. Back on the ship we dressed and got ready for a night at the Tropicana. An incredible show that made the trip even more memorable. We were sailing by the time we woke for two sea days and just remembering what we experienced. The trip back home was a little rocky, but not sickening. The temperature was too cool to be outside, so it was back to the casino. We arrived in Tampa, disembarkation went well and now I spend my time remembering the sites and sounds of Cuba and the wonderful crew of Carnival. It was perfect!!!! Read Less

We went on this cruise as a group. One of our group had cruised Carnival many times. I was disappointed in the food. It was almost the same food each day. Not many new items added. I understood that this ship had been recently remodeled. It still looked tired and worn. The Lido deck needs more servers to help clear/clean tables. Some of the staff in all areas were not very friendly. The entertainment was very good. Mat the cruise director was awesome. The shows were grest. Many choices for entertainment. Some of the excursions were not as expected. The Cathedral Cave, was not a moderate activity (should be labeled strenuous not for people with mobility problems). The Curacao 6hr sea turtle adventure was okay, but many stairs for people with mobility issues. It would be nice to see more history excursions as well. I would like to give Carnival another try but not on this ship. Read Less
