We have cruised Liberty of the Seas 2 years ago for our 27th anniversary and had such a wonderful time we thought to go again. In fact we are booked again in 2020. We thought the entertainment would be different and for the most part it was the same. They repeated the ice skating show, the brothers comedy show, Saturday Night Fever(which did not happen due to injury) and the village people/70's dance in the promenade. I felt like the entertainment staff wasn't as talented as 2 years ago. But I am comparing it to another trip that was AWESOME. Jeffery the director was still just as amazing as the last time. We could cruise with him all the time! He's funny and so friendly. This time he was under the weather and he still managed to entertain us. Dining was good and the waiters were so friendly and professional. I asked about them making special cuisine from India and they brought it to me every night along side the normal menu. I loved it. I discovered this during a cruise that had a large population of guests from India. I asked and they delivered. We decided to try the Windjammer for dinner one night and it was really good with a plentiful selection. We had breakfast in the Windjammer most mornings as well as in the main dining room one night. We were not disappointed with the food at all. I am partial to eating different types of food. I especially loved that they had rice consume on the buffet. Be sure to visit the Hoof and Claw bar and look for Danis the bartender. He is amazing at making up fun drinks for you to try. Customer service was great all the way around. I have no complaints about the workers on the ship. They aim to please. My husband had surgery on his knee and needed ice in the room all the time. Bernard was very helpful in making sure our ice bag was always full. Our room was very clean all the time. The only complaint was the room location and that is my own fault for picking it. So this review is mainly to inform others about this room 1840 on the 12th Deck. Read Less

If you've ever taken a cruise you know that once you've done so your pretty much hooked, if you've had a good experience, which was the case with me. After my first cruise I was so excited to talk my mother and 3 sisters into taking a cruise with me, I looked and looked and finally settled on Royal Caribbean, they seemed to have a lot to offer the younger crowd and my 2 teen nephews were coming with. I booked With one of their agents, we booked a 2 bedroom grand suite (don't let the name fool you). After booking I made multiple attempts to get more information about our perks from the agent, all calls and emails went unanswered, she had the sale and was done with me. So so so, customer service (again don't let the name fool you) answered some questions and some wrong information, was told by several people that one of our perks was free internet for all of my guests, that's only on the Oasis Class. Okay so embarkation day, cluster of epic proportions. Priority Boarding you say, NOT, wheel chair assistance?? Umm Nope, dump your luggage on the curb, search for a porter and beg to have them take your luggage, herd into the building and go sit in the corner and wait for them to get a chair and assistant to finally take you up. And literally that is where you are left right at the ship's deck. Okay, to the Suite, stained sofa, substandard beds and minimal pillows, I've had better beds at a motel 6, not even an exaggeration. Deciding to try to relax and not allow this cruise line to further ruin a vacation that I planned for months with my mother and sisters to reconnect and have some great memories with our aging mother we set out to explore the ship, this is how we discover our luggage sitting down the hall outside someone else's door, now we're lugging all of our luggage down the hall ourselves. Again im trying not to lose it so I don't upset mom or let my sisters know that i'm incredibly disappointed. So we go to the buffet, holy garbage batman! Poorly seasoned, cold, tasteless food, a complete disorganized disaster, because of this we choose to just have room service not even attempt the main dining room. The Suite Lounge furniture was nearly threadbare in some spots. The crew for the most actually seemed to care about our experience, the cruise line not so much. Bottom line is I spent over $10K to get substandard service and a stained dirty run down suite, the cruise with my family was supposed to be my treat for them and me and it was ruined. I know it's about the time together, however when you count on getting the things you paid for so that it would be an amazing experience it's very difficult not to be upset, I literally cried. I'll never go back with Royal Caribbean, in a lesser accommodation booking with Celebrity we recieved so much more. If you're looking for a vacation cruise that won't disappoint look elsewhere please. Happy cruising Read Less

Was hoping to get a way for a quiet week, not the ship for that. 17 Feb and nothing but kids running around thinking it's a good idea to play chicken with a revolving door. Ship needs work. Elevators don't work properly. More than once did I watch elevators skip the floor I was waiting on. They had to replace TV remote in our cabin twice. Phone wouldn't program wake up call. Royal Caribbean thinks their beach towels are made of gold. Never been on a ship where I heard more about returning towels or getting charged $25.00. Well let me tell you Royal Caribbean, you should have paid me $25.00 to take those thread bare rag off your ship. On the beach with people from other ships with nice thick bright towels and here we are with these thin faded rags. Need more events between 1900 and 2100. Only one music act going on per night. With 1730 first seating it's too difficult to keep busy until 2100 for the second show. Second show shouldn't have started any later that 2000. I will give you credit the ice skating show was very good. Port of Galveston is a disaster. Every week they have a ship trying to disembark over 3000 people and because of lack of coordination between the port authority, Royal Caribbean and C&B they only have seven agents to process 3000 people. Was forced off ship at 1045 and still didn't clear customs until after 1230. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we love to go the Caribbean this time of year and enjoy the Royal Caribbean ships. We have been on other cruise lines but like Royal the best. This time we enjoyed the owners suite which comes with some extra perks. They offer a variety of activities and entertainment throughout the cruise. Some of my favorite are the cupcake decoration classes and the Trivia challenges where you tend to make new friends. I like being in the middle of the ship and prefer the higher floors. We enjoy sitting on the balcony drinking coffee and eating breakfast on cruise day mornings. Strolling down the prominade shopping and people watching and maybe a stop in the ice cream parlor. Cozumel is one of my favorite ports because there is so much to do and the water is such a beautiful color of blue. We enjoy the cruise life. Read Less

8+ cruise with RCCL and we have cruised on larger and smaller ships but first time on the Liberty Embarkation - was really nice flow and we were on the ship in under 1hr which I consider very good time, leaving the ship we had a long line of over 1hr with US immigration lines. The ship has a ton of things to do and overall everything was pretty good from the shows to bingo and everything in between. Lots of families and empty nesters, many Texans but a mix of others as well, everyone got along well and were super friendly. Good news there was no sewer smell in bathrooms. Stateroom was large and room attendant excellent. Room itself was clean but worn out, everything was badly stained, carpets, sofa, chair, curtains and even the towels.RCCL should be ashamed to allow their standards to drop so low. Overall ship public areas was in better shape and clean and well maintained. Lots bars and open areas. Elevators, only thing I can say is they are a hot mess try to avoid and walk the stairs if possible. Food was above average for sure and everything was served HOT. We dinned at Sabor, Chops & Giovanni's and service and food was excellent. Main dinning room was good for food and excellent for service. Windjammer buffet was OK and finding a table was always and issue. Pizza place was great. Over all service was excellent and everyone we encountered had a smile and was service orientated. Read Less

Myself, Mother and Mother In Law cruised as our Christmas gift to the moms. Guys stayed at home. We really enjoyed the whole experience from day 1. We shared an oversized balcony with the moms in twin beds and myself on the convertible couch. The room had plenty of storage and room to move around and we took the desk chair on the balcony when all 3 of us wanted to be outside. As stated before the beds are a little hard but I was very comfortable. We drove down the night before and stayed at 4 points Sheraton which was fine but a little pricey. We parked with cruisepark and had to lug our suitcases a couple of blocks including across train tracks and up stairs but we made it just fine and that is with 2 ladies over 75. Would recommend a lot that drops you off at the terminal if the weather is not great. Embarkation was a piece of cake and we arrived around 10:15am. We were in the gold boarding group and waited about 30 minutes before being allowed to board. We walked around the ship and had a drink by the pool until our room was ready at 1:00. Our luggage was already in the hallway so we changed into swimsuits and went to the pool with our books. We ate in the dining room for most meals to try to avoid the germs and crowds. It is hard to eat together in the windjammer because someone has to hold the table while the others take turns getting food so you have to take turns eating. The food at the buffet was fair to good. All of our meals in the MDR were very good and the salad and pasta bar in the dining room on sea days was great. first excursion in Roatan was little french key. Absolutely breathtaking views and beautiful beaches but they oversold by 300 people and did not have the enough staff to serve food and drinks. Some people never got lunch and it took about an hour to get a drink. A little disappointing but it's hard to be unhappy when you are sitting on the beach! Costa Maya excursion was bacalar fort and 7 colors lagoon. The swimming portion was first. We reached the swimming areas by boat. The water is refreshing and the views are amazing. It was a very windy day so the swimming was a little difficult, but the water was shallow enough to just stand and cool off if you don't swim. The fort was fun but we just had a very short time and did not get to go inside to the pirate museum. Great photo opportunity. Take some cash as the locals were selling hand made bracelets, shirts and candy. On Cozumel we did the Mayan ruins and chocolate tasting. Our guide, Bianca, was awesome! Great tour to learn about the Mayan culture and history and a fun and tasty look at chocolate making through the years. We even had time for a chocolate Margarita. The ship itself is absolutely beautiful and there is plenty to do. The shows were some of the best I've seen on any cruise. I highly recommend LOS with stops in Roatan, Costa Maya and Cozumel. We chose self check out for disembarkation. You have to register even if you are taking your own luggage to get a group number. We left the ship at 8:40 and it took about an hour to get through customs. We were in the parking lot and on the road by 10:00. Read Less

This cruise was chosen for the time of year with children in school for a group of friends, who normally sail repositioning cruises, to take a short vacation from our home port of Galveston. Unfortunately, after all made arrangements, RCCL changed to kids sail free. We are not against children, but as seniors and retired, we were looking forward to some quiet, relaxing pool days. Between kids running up and down halls yelling at the top of their lungs, riding elevators, pushing all the floor buttons and little parent supervision, this was not the best cruise. Fortunately we could utilize the Diamond Lounge for Continental breakfast in the morning and cocktails in the late afternoon before dinner at Chops and Giovanni's. The few times we went to Windjammer, it was a nightmare. We have sailed the Liberty several times including her repo from Quebec City. She's a nice ship, laid out well, but we are bored with the promenade. One of the elevators port side, aft was out of service the first two days then, almost immediately placed back in service, someone on an electric scooter took out the doors on deck 14, so the remaining elevators were always packed. Staff are friendly, helpful, and polite. As we have sailed so much we really don't require much, know the ship and where we want to go. Only drawback in Diamond Lounge in the morning, when wanting some quiet to read and have coffee, a yoga exercise class is taking pace in Viking Crown with the instructor yelling at the top of his lungs. Not the place to have a class. We had a promenade cabin on deck 7. Great location as it was around corner from stairs and elevators. Our cabin steward, Florina, was excellent. This is the second time in a promenade cabin. I must admit I like to see daylight preferring a balcony or Ocean View (on upper decks) so will not book again. Service and food in Chops and Giovanni's was excellent as always though I prefer the food in Giovanni's We all missed not having Izumi on the ship. Ports: We have been to them all so many times that we go ashore to meet friends for lunch. In Roatan we stayed on the ship to enjoy a few hours of quiet time at the pool. The Aviary at Costa Maya is a must see. Beautiful birds and a very nice facility worth the $12 admission. Lunch at Panchos Backyard in Cozumel is also a must. Good food, margarita's and beautiful patio. Good shopping at the attached store Los Cinco Soles. My only serious complaint is the womens restroom on deck 11. It is accessible from inside and pool side. The smell is atrocious! This is the restroom for Windjammer, Chops, Giovanni's and the pool. Something must be done about the odor.I accept the fan to keep the floor dry, but the room stinks. Overall, it was an okay trip. Looking forward to the arrival of the Enchantment in 2019 and Oasis Class in 2020 though my preference is the smaller ships. Read Less

To start: The embarkation and debarkation has greatly improved since three years ago. Especially the debarkation. It was 2.5 hours before and 45 minutes now. Great way to end the cruise experience. We went to the pay extra restaurants named Chops and Sabor. Both had excellent service and food. Johnny Rockets was also very good. The main dinning room had outstanding service and the food was quite good. Did you know that in the main dining room you can double order something if you want? The Windjammer buffet surprised us at the selection and quality with the waiter staff always ready to help deliver omelettes, drinks, etc. It could be called the People's dining room in the evenings. The more regular folks went there and enjoyed good food and as much as they wanted. (We went there twice for dinner, twice for lunch and five times for breakfast. All good.) The Sorrento pizza joint was very popular and had more than just pizza! Five out of five for variety and quality of food and service. All four of us were very satisfied. There were some places we did not try. We ran out of time and hunger! Cabin 8398 - balcony- was nicely furnished, spacious enough and clean. No complaints. The steward was seen by us twice. Since all was good, no complaints to give only compliments for a job well done. The ship is built to entertain in so many ways. The shows were good to great. The music on board was outstanding. I thought the casino was up to date and in great shape. The pools, rock climbing walls, basketball court, miniature golf and rides were all in good condition and had happy folks using them. The decks were neat as a pin. The bars seemed to be fun and nice Sorry, I am not a bar guy so I have little to say on the matter, but when passing I saw people taking dance lessons and enjoying each others' company. We enjoyed a movie under the stars. The ice rink was popular and the show excellent. The drink packages sold were not a temptation because in order to make it worthwhile I would have to drink like a fish. These areas of business didn't bother us. We did not need alcohol to have a good time, nor gambling, shopping, buying art, drinking soda, playing video games or buying contrived photos. But they were there for those in need! never saw or heard a complaint about them. The decor of the ship was tasteful. The construction was well done - in form and function from the Promenade to the elevators, to the spa and gym to the many public rooms. We never had a problem with any of the crew. They were upbeat, courteous and informed. Now for the rest: The flag of Texas.....Well, that was awesome! The dining staff singing the Eyes of Texas are Upon You and America the Beautiful was outstanding. The huge cake at the Windjammer with the Texan and American flags was more than a nice touch. The passengers came from all over to be on the cruise. Many were Asian, Hispanic and African American as well as eastern European. The passengers:There were LGBTs, kids, elderly, singles and marrieds. But most of all there were the Texans, who know how to make the most of a moment and are open hearted. Many :"Thanks you's, your welcomes, pleases, excuse me's, hello's, witticisms and Y'all's", from not just us Texans." A happy and friendly group of passengers makes it just that much more enjoyable for all. The days were sunny and warm. The showers in Cozumel refreshing and added to the adventure. We had smooth seas every day and nice port visits in Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Goalmouth, Jamaica. Our excursions were memorable and fun. So what's to complain about? I have been on seven cruises over thirty years. This was the best ship and tied for the best cruise. Only complaint about this cruise: It ended!!! I recommend this ship and the Cris and Martha at CruiseOne who booked the trip. Read Less

Valentines Day and time to pause and relax Embarkation: Kudos to Galveston & RC for upgrading the Facility.no longer do you have to wait outside and subject to the weather. The actual embarkation personal was friendly and the whole process was quick. Our luggage arrived about 1 hour later and that was appreciated. Service: Service overall was very good in the dining room and cabin as well. But more later on this subject Entertainment Music venues were better than average and some were excellent Special Kudos to:Manoelito and his guitar..outstanding, The Latin Trio had everybody dancing and Wendy's Country Band, one of the Best!, also enjoyed the ships's orchestra. Shows: BLAAAA Dining: Man Dining Room and Windjammer. The food was average and the selection of different offerings are way down. cruised with RC foe about 10 years and whoa, what a difference! You can always find something you can order. but apparently RC is trying to steer you to the Specialty Restaurants to increase profits. Cabin; We had inside Promenade cabin. Clean and enough space Deck 6 Ship: Clean but some signs of wear, Decor pleasing Ports: God selection of ports. No excursion, have been at all of them several times Final comment: RC seems to be interested in increasing profits for their shareholders.Claim to be #1 but here is the kicker. Service personal seem to be overworked and afraid to not offered a contract. Begging for high scores in the RC feedback even for rating the quality and variety of food offerings. Then RC on their feedback form ask if anybody ask for good feedback so they can claim... NUMERO UNO.....Really? The service was very good in the Dining room but the food is lacking and should not reflect on the waiters!!!! So what did I do...give excellent feedback to the poor workers....AND THAT IS SADLY THE TRUTH Read Less

All ready have our next cruise set on her again and can't wait! Shore excursion booked through the ship gave us no time at all at port and was a bit more hectic than the other excursions that I booked myself. Having only 3 ports of call was the BEST...gave us way more time to enjoy the ship and all of the amenities that were offered.
