We called ourselves "Chicks On the Run" and a group of girlfriends decided to take a three day cruise and have fun, play cards and enjoy music and laughter and girl company. Boy were we in for a negative surprise!! We chose the line and ship so that we did not have to drive eight plus hours to south Florida. First the room attendant only gave us one small bar of soap for two guests. Towels were gray and rough and even though we asked for extra towels we never received them nor did we ever get a bucket of ice in our room. Dirty glass was left for us to clean??? . Cabin was kept clean, however the vinyl couch left much to be desired and one would never want to sit on it! Dining room staff gave us terrible service; so bad that we complained at Guest Services. Wine was brought to the table after we had finished most of our meal and the table was still filled with dirty dishes while the the waiter was serving us our dessert. Steak was tough, prime rib was tough and they do not know what au jus is. We received gloppy beef gravy for the prime rib. Breakfast was not much better in the dining room, as you had to ask for every little thing, including jam, butter and little pastries, just to name a few. Lunch at the buffet was good. Guy Fierrri's burgers were the best and the line to get a burger proved it. The Mongolian Wok station was also very good, however long, long lines to have your selections cooked. Dirty floors all around the ship, lack of help all over the ship was quite obvious. Do not get the "Drink Package" as you will never get the service to order the drink and if you do, you will not receive it, way within an hour! Daylight savings time and the ships clocks were never corrected, so we got our wakeup call an hour late! Public bathrooms were nasty. Needed a luggage tag for disembarkation, go get it yourself! I am still waiting for credit for my beverage package that I was told would be credited to my account!! The best part of the cruise was being with friends! Carnival was to give us a "Cocktail Party with dry snacks and drinks. It turned out to be drinks we really did not want and not even a cracker was to be found! Desserts were good. So I guess the saying "Let Them eat cake" is the way Carnival thinks!!! Smoke was terrible wherever you walked on the public areas of the ship. Felt bad for the staff that had to inhale all the second hand smoke around them. I have sailed over 25+ cruises, including Carnival and I have never been on a ship as bad as this. Read Less

A group of us that are Super fans from NFL teams chose to cruise to the Bahamas, Over all the experience was not great. Food was decent, but service was slow or non existent. Ship was clean but the crew did not seem friendly and seemed disinterested, They did not make you feel welcome. This did not include everyone, just the majority. We did find some that seemed to have fun and made you feel special. Our steward never seemed to materialize but the room was clean and presentable. This was just a very disappointing cruise. Food was as I said decent, Osheehans was our favorite. The buffet was goos as well and the Shanghai Noodle Bar was also one of our favorites. Debarkation was horrendous. No organization and there was major chaos. At this time I would not recommend Norwegian Cruise Lines and our plan is we will not be cruising with them again. I have been on 2 Carnival Ships, 1 Princess and 1 Royal Caribbean, All of those I would recommend. Read Less

20-30 minutes for a drink. Never left the ship for their "private island". Called the front desk because there was dry blood on our sheets, we could never get through, it just rang and then a message said everyone was busy, try again later. Eventually had to take sheet from a cart in the hallway. Getting off the ship was horrifying. We needed to be on the 5th floor to get off the ship. We tried to get off the ship early by carrying our own luggage off. Traffic was so backed up that we we're standing in the back of the ship, on the 7th floor stairwell. And they kept calling more groups to get off the ship. I would think just a couple weeks after crushing 2 moorings and damaging the ship, their service would be on point. That was not the case. Drink package would have been worth it if it didn't take 30 minutes to get a drink. Food was good. But I can get good food anywhere. Please do not take a Norwegian cruise line adventure.... Ever.. I'll start with the things I enjoyed about about the ship. 1) I enjoyed the drink package! But, sometimes the wait at the bars were crazy. It was tolerable but could have been better. 2) The balcony view. It was wonderful sitting out every morning and night. 3) In the beginning, the staff was very nice. 4) The food at the specialty dining restaurants was very good. The buffet was average...not terrible. Now for the things I didn't like.... 1) I was really disappointed that we didn't make it to the private beach Great Stirrup Cay. I believe it was to keep everyone safe. However, some people didn't share my thoughts on it. I'm glad they kept everyone safe but I wish they would have given us a shorten beach day for a couple of hours. It did rain really hard later that evening. I understand they don't want the liability. 2) My room wasn't as clean as I would have liked. I believe they forget the mirrors. 3) The rooms are really tight. I would suggest to select the mini suite or better. (Showers are larger in mini suite) 4) The room steward didn't even speak to us on the depart day. It was like it flipped a switch. 5) The whole disembarkation process was terrible. If felt like they had never had people leave the ship before....it was over an hour to get down from the 8th floor to the 6th floor. 6) Again, the bars and the small pools just can't accommodate the amount of people on the ship. If you can afford The Haven....I'm sure there's no problem there. If I try another NCL cruise, it will be Bliss. Cruise Date: March 7-11 (Epic) Read Less

Service poor Roaches in suite Cancelled Island destination stop Would not give 6 pillows to room of 3. Food was blah steak was to rare brought back 3 times never got it right. Door lock in suite had to be replaced at midnight one maint guy on duty had 3 jobs to do before us, took til 1am to fix. Over crowded could not find a place to layout on deck. Get a drink took 45 min before anyone would acknowledge us. Heard from many staff when asked for service...I'm going on break I will get someone else to help you and noone came back. Then delayed to get off ship almost missed our shuttle to parking lot. Horrible experience! I will stick with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean for cruises in the future. Highly disappointed & expected better than this. Stay away from this Norwegian cruise line! Unhappy & Angry Patron Read Less

This was our 7th cruise (DIsney, Celebrity, Holland, Royal Caribbean), but our first time with NCL. We are a married couple in our late 50s. We enjoyed the more casual, laid - back, freestyle experience. The Pearl, although not as "elegant" as some other ships, still is in good shape, clean and modern. The Pearl staff was very friendly and attentive, especially our cabin attendant, Daniella. The restaurants and food variety was good, but not as good as Celebrity or Disney. We ate at 2 specialty restaurants, Cagneys and Moderno. Cagneys was excellent, Modernos not as much (although a great salad bar). We loved the musical entertainment (Avalon, Roxie the guitarist, sing-a-long with Peter, DJ Tazz) and pool entertainment more than other cruise ships. The pool water was a nice temperature, not too cold. We could not go to the only scheduled port, Great Stirrup Cay, due to high winds/weather, but went to Freeport, Bahamas instead. Our time in port was much shorter due to the diversion to Freeport. We had a very negative experience with the excursion desk staff and lack of announcements regarding the port of call change. This cruise had many spring breakers and cruisers that were part of the "Trailer Park Boys" theme cruise, so the atmosphere was younger and more energetic which we enjoyed, but some cruisers could not handle their alcohol. We smelled the strong, persistent odor of marijuana emanating from some of the rooms, hallways and common areas, although we did actually witness any cruisers smoking marijuana. For people with sensitivity to smoke or asthma, it may have presented a problem. We took advantage of the free perk unlimited beverage package (alcohol, soda and juices) although it is not totally free since you are charged a service fee (approximately $160 for 2 adults). The service fee, though, was well worth the package. The theater entertainment was very average (husband and wife magician and a solo singer). There were no big production shows, maybe because the shorter length of the cruise and the "Trailer Park Boys" theme cruise using the theater for special events. If you are looking for a casual, lively and energetic cruise, please consider NCL. Read Less

We chose this cruise for a family event. We are normally Carnival Cruise guests, but was excited to set sail with NCL. Got the NCL reward credit card and all. They refused to credit the $200 in points. They ran out of Budlight and Ultras and they were often hot when they did have. The mixed drinks and shots were made with watered down alcohol served by bitter bartenders. One of the ports is NCL owned in belize and was more expensive than the other 2 ports with very little to offer. There were 4 to 6 of the staff that made it worth while to rate it a 3. The pool was over crowded. The specialty restaurant was over booked and inaccessible as well as the popular bars and shows. The gym was over crowded and the spa was expensive. Unfortunately I will not be sailing with NCL. Will try Royal next or May just go all inclusive and fly to my destination. Read Less

We took this cruise as part of a specific group, so neither the ship nor the itinerary was our choice. That said, we had a good time overall and give Royal Caribbean an A- for the experience. The Ship: The ship is older than most we sail, and it’s age shows. Colors/decoration are dated. The ship has been updated, but with heavy use it is in need of some tweaks. Carpets are worn, furniture is sometimes stained, and sheets/towels are showing wear. The ship is clean, however metal deterioration is visible under paint, paint is scuffed, etc. Nothing major, but if you expect a new, glitzy ship, Adventure isn’t for you. The big plus for us, after having last sailed RC on the Allure, is it’s smaller size. The layout is somewhat similar, just on a more human scale. There were times it felt crowded, but overall no more so than Allure. Elevators were inconsistent, but generally adequate. The Dining: The food was better than we expected. The main dining room was very good, considering they serve ~2,000 meals at each setting. The specialty restaurants were very good - we had the 3-meal package - and both Izumi and Chops served very good food with excellent service. We enjoyed the Chef’s Table food/wine pairing very much, however the venue on this ship is not ideal - it is a small half-level in the main dining room, so it is too loud to hear the chef’s descriptions clearly and enjoy visiting with others at the 12-person table. The buffet was fine for breakfast/lunch - both changed little during the week, but the food was freshly-made and plentiful, and the service was the best we have experienced in a mass-market ship buffet. Service throughout the ship was top notch. Special shout-outs to Iputu at the Promenade coffee bar (can’t imagine how he remembered my name, but after day 2 he called me by my name and remembered my husband’s name BEFORE I ordered. Are you listening RC? - this man deserves a promotion!), and our room steward, Nahroni, was very gracious and efficient - he always greeted us with a smile and a minute to catch up, no matter the time of day. The room stewards are very busy on RC ships, but we never waited for our room to be made up or lacked for anything in our cabin. That brings me to the survey RC sends out online. There is no place to thank special people, only places to note failures. Come on, RC, you’re missing an opportunity to find your best people. A very ‘corporate’ approach to a very human experience. Embarkation: It was among the best we have experienced. Quick and efficient (we had filled out the online registry, with photo, so they had little to do at check in. A tip: take a taxi/Uber from your hotel to the port rather than shuttles from nearby hotels for a faster boarding at nearly the same cost - the shuttles stop at all the ships and Adventure is farthest from the hotels. Debarkation: It was a nightmare. Took over 3 hours after our scheduled debarkation time to actually complete the process. Only 4 customs agents for nearly 3,000 passengers, but that is a port problem the cruise line cannot impact. Fort Lauderdale is very busy and experiencing growing pains. Be sure you have an extra dose of patience on debarkation day. The good news - the airport is upgrading, and our departure on Southwest was in a brand new and spacious facility. We have cruised over 10 times, with several lines, including upscale providers. That is enough to make the best decision for us, and we would sail RC and Adventure again if the group/itinerary were right. Read Less

Was Invited by a friend. Everything was spectacular. More than the first time. Our waiter only warm up to us the final night and the food was great. Love everything. I would only suggest that there would be gluten free options for me. I have celiac decease and cant tolerate gluten. The first night I ordered a steak and it was covered in flour. That was tje only meal I couldn't enjoy. The entertainment was out of this world. Perfect! The cabin was what I expected. Everything was clean. I got lost a couple of times... Well not actually got lost. I lost my friends. The ship is way too big to find someone. Lol I embarkation was extremely fast this time. My first time we waited what felt like forever. The disembarkation as well went smooth. My overall experience was totally out of this world. Will definitely go on a cruise next time my husband will join me. Read Less
